In 2025, Manupackaging International Kft. continued its sustainability efforts, once again focusing on carbon compensation, supporting biodiversity, and promoting a circular economy.
Our core principle remains unchanged: for every ton of PCR-content packaging film used, we plant one tree on behalf of our customers.
This year, we carried out two parallel tree-planting campaigns.
Tree Planting in Forests Near Budapest
The first pillar of our campaign involved planting trees in forested areas around Budapest, directly linked to our customers’ PCR film usage.
The purpose of these plantings was to strengthen local forest stands, support regional wildlife, and enhance long-term carbon sequestration capacity.
This initiative was successfully completed, and all planned trees were planted in their designated locations.
Planting Native Fruit Trees in Cooperation with the GreenDependent Institute
Our second campaign was carried out in cooperation with the GreenDependent Institute.
Within this program, we planted native Hungarian fruit trees across the country, primarily in the gardens of educational, social, and nonprofit institutions.
An important selection criterion for each location was that the institutions committed to caring for and maintaining the trees in the long term, ensuring the creation of real and lasting community value.
Our 2025 campaign officially closed on October 29, but the planting of the trees — due to weather and organizational considerations — took place on November 28 in the garden of the Gölner Mária Regional Waldorf School.
Together with the school community, we planted the native fruit trees, which will enrich the environment for years to come and support the institution’s sustainability initiatives.
We were also joined at the event by Beáta Gadányi, Head of Environmental and Energy Management Systems at Zwack Unicum Nyrt., who personally participated in the planting. It was a great pleasure and honour to celebrate our shared commitment to sustainability together.
